Confucian orientation is the main characteristic of china, which emphasizes on filial piety, obedience, duty, ethical behavior and morality. you should expect to encounter a highly defined and stratified family and social structure, “hierarchical” thinking, great respect of elders and authority, commitment to the group more than to the individual, much less individualism than in west and little outward expression of pride, especially personal pride.
